Funeral Services Were Held in Shaw Yesterday Afternoon
Mrs. Martha Mitchell of Shaw died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Ward, near Shaw, at 9 o'clock Saturday night. The funeral service was held in Shaw at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon and she was buried beside her husband, Nicholas, at Shaw Evergreen Cemetery near Shaw.
She was born in July 1841 in Tennessee, and died June 29, 1918. Mrs. Mitchell, aged 76 years, was a widow. Death was caused by heart trouble.
Her husband, Nicholas Mitchell, died in 1902. Survivors are her daughter, of Shaw, and her children from two marriages, several grandchildren, and other family and friends.
