Moody officiating. Burial was in Mt.Moriah Terrace Park north of Kansas City, Missouri. Casketbearers were Paul Brinegar, John Barger, Jeff Capps, Lee Capps, Dennis Capps, and Jeff Eastland. Music was furnished by organist Janet Taylor and soloist Juanita Brinegar, who sang "In The Sweet By and By" and " The Old Rugged Cross". Walter Vern Capps, son of Arthur Benton and Martha Susan {Pace} Capps, was born near Collins, Missouri on April 7, 1913, and died April 12, 1979, at Memorial Hospital in North Kansas City, Missouri after an illness of two years. He served for three and one- half years in the United States Army during World War II, seeing duty in India, China, and Burma. He retired from General Motors as an inspector after having been employed for thirty years. He was married to Wanda Lucille Gardner on March 26, 1949, to this union two children were born. He is survived by his wife Wanda of the home at 1507 N.E. 73rd Terrace, Kansas City, Missouri. A son, Dennis Andrew of Kansas City, Missouri, a daughter Karen Susan of the home, three brothers, Floyd of Weaubleau, Missouri, Glen of Kansas City, Missouri, Herman of Collins, Missouri; four sisters Corda Verley of Clatskanie, Oregon, Naomi Dodd of Shreveport, Louisiana, Edna Brinegar of Collins, Missouri, and Zella Fox of Humansville, Missouri, several neices and nephews, and many friends.
