John la Warre, 4th Lord la Warre was born circa 1345. He was the son of Roger la Warre, 3rd Lord la Warre and Elizabeth de Welle. He married, firstly, Elizabeth (?) before 8 May 1368. He married, secondly, Elizabeth de Neville, daughter of Sir Gilbert de Neville, before 20 January 1388/89. In February 1368/69 he served in Gascony with the Black Prince. He succeeded to the title of 4th Lord la Warre on 27 August 1370. In September 1372 he accompanied King Edward III on his attempted invasion of France. He died on 27 July 1398. John married Elizabeth Neville, the daughter and heiress of Gilbert Neville and his wife, Katherine. She was the widow of Sir Simon Simeon of Lincolnshire who died Dec 1387. They had no issue.
John was in Gascony with Edward, Prince of Wales in Feb of 1369.
John paid homage to King Richard II at his coronation 16 July 1377, summoned to Parliament 1371 to 1397. John accompanied the king on his attempted invasion of France and distinguished himself at the raid into Brittany under Thomas of Woodstock, the Earl of Buckingham in 1380. John was excused from Parliament in 1382 due to a weakness of the eyes.
Sir John left a will dated 08 Jan 1398, proved 01 August 1398. Elizabeth preceded him in death 18 Dec 1393.
