Letter from Harry Thomas (Toby) Ward [b.1874] to Adina Ward written in 1954, after she enquired from him about the family: "I'm afraid I have not much to tell you about what you want to know my father [ie. Thomas Ward] I never knew and I have never seen a photo of him in fact I don't think he ever had one or I should have seen it all the photo I have are one of my dear old Gran [ie. Mary Olney nee Leach] what brought me up untill I was six and aunt Mary Ann [Olney/Irons, d.1889] was my mother sister and she was very good to me always send me something for my Birthday and I had several weeks with her at Finchley with Ted Irons [ie. the albino deaf mute tailor] and his sister [s?] The Silsoe Olneys were related to the Hexton Olneys but I cannot say what relation the Irons were."
