1791 The last Will and Testament of me Alice Weedon of Pirton in the County of Hertford Widow.
First I give and devise unto my son Thomas Weedon my two Freehold Cottages or Tenements situate in Pirton aforesaid now in several Tenures or occupation of William Wells and Henry Walker with the Barns Outhouses Yards Gardens and Orchards thereto belonging. And my Copyhold Close of Pasture in Pirton aforesaid called Wilshires in the occupation of Henry Ward with the appurtenances To hold to him my said son Thomas Weedon his heirs and assigns for ever.
Also I give and devise unto my Son John Weedon my Messuage or Farmhouse in Pirton aforesaid with all the Lands Grounds Hereditaments and Appurtenances thereto belonging as the same are now in the Occupation of Henry Ward. Except the said Close called Wilshires Close in Pirton aforesaid and all other my Freehold and Copyhold Estates To hold to him my said Son John Weeden his heirs and assigns for ever Charged nevertheless
and I give thereout the Sum of Sixty three pounds to my Daughter Mary the wife of William Abbis.
And with the like sum of Sixty three Pounds to my Son Edward Weedon to be to them respectively or to their respective executors or Adminestrators paid within Twelve Months next after my Decease.
And I declare it to be my Will and do hereby direct that my said Son John Weedon shall out of the Estates descended to him pay All such sums as shall be due on Mortgage thereof or of the Premises devised to my said Son Thomas and therefrom discharge him my said Son Thomas and his Estates. And that he my said Son John shall as my heir at Law Surrender and Assure to my said Son Thomas and his Heirs any part of the Premises devised to my said Son Thomas which for want of a Surrender to the use of my Will may not pass thereby. And in default thereof I give all my Freehold Land to my said Son Thomas Weedon and his Heirs. And I give All my Household Furniture Goods Chattles and personal Estate whatsoever unto my said Son John Weedon he thereout paying all my just Debts and Funeral Expences. And I appoint him my said Son John Weedon and Mr James Whittingstall of Westmill in the Parish of Shitlington in the County of Bedford Miller and Mealman joint Executors of this my last Will hereby evoking all former Wills by me made. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand the Twenty third day of December in the year of our Lord Christ One Thousand and seven Hundred and Ninety one The mark of Alice Weeden
Signed Published and declared by the said Alice Weedon the Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament in the Presence of us who suscribe and attest the same as Witnesses in her presence at her request and in the presence of each other.
