Name spelt Furyan on marriage register. 1691 Beneficiary in the will of his father John Ferrian, along with his sister Sarah and grandmother Elizabeth Ansell. 1695 Beneficiary in his grandmother's (Elizabeth Ansell) will in 1695 ".....I dispose thereof as followeth Imprimis I give and devise unto Michael Furrian my grandson and to his heirs and assignes for ever All those my three acres and a halfe more or lesse of arrable land with the appurtenances lying in Pirton aforesaid holden of the manor of Pirton Doddingsells in the county of Hertford aforesaid by coppy of Court Rolls of which I …….I have made a surrender to the ………of my will Item I give and devise mor to the said Michael Furrian my grandsonne and to his heires and assignes for ever all that my cottage or tenement with the [garden?] situate and being in St Neotts in the county of Huntingdonshire which did lately depend and ………." Estate valued at 59 pounds, 15 shillings & 6 pence 1714 LAST WILL & TESTATMENT Michael Furrian 42 HW 72 In the Name of God Amen I Michael Furrian of Pirton in the County of Hertford Labourer being Ill but of Sound and perfect Mind and Memory praise be therefore given to Almighty God do make & ordaine this my pres(en)t last Will & Testament in Manner & form following (that is to say) first & principally I commend my soul unto the hands of Allmighty God hoping that the merits Death & Passion of my Saviour Jes(s)s (Chri)st to have full perfect pardon & forgiveness of all my sins & to inherit everlasting life & by Body I commit to the Earth to be decently Burried at the discresion of my Executrix hereafter Named as touching the disposition of all such temporal estate as it hath pleased almighty God to bestow upon me I give & disperse thereof as following First I will that my Debts & funeral charges shall be p(ai)d & discharged Item I give & devise unto Elizabeth my Dear & well beloved wife & to her heirs and assigns for ever all & every my customary or copyhold hands w(i)th their & every of their App(ur)tenec(es) lying in the common fields & Parish of Pirton afore(said) (being now in the occupa(tion) of one the said (Michael Furrian) w(ich) are holden of this Mannor of Pirton Doddingsdells by Coppy of Court Roll of w(hich) premises I have lately made a surrender thereof to the use of my will Item I do give & devise more unto Elizabeth my dear & well beloved Wife for & during the term of her Natural life all that my Freehold cottage and Tennem(ent) with the App(ur)teneces scituat & being in Pirton aforesaid & also all yt Close or Pightle of Pasture & plow(ed) ground with the appurtences therento belonging and adjoining containing by estamacian one acre more or less now in the occupation of Christopher Crouch and lately bought or purchased of Thomas Turner of Pirton afforesaid Item I do give and devise more into Elizabeth my Dear and well beloved wife for and during the terme of her Natural life one other freehold Cottage or tenement and Close or Pightle of Meadow or pasture ground with the appurtences containing by estimation three Roods and Scituat and in Aspley end in the Parish of Shillington in the County of Bedford now in the occupacon of Thomas Gill or his Assignes. Item I do hereby give and devise more unto Elizabeth my Dear and well beloved wife for and during the term of her Natural life two other Messuages or tenants(en) wth(i) the appetences(en) scituate and being at St Neots in the county of Huntingdon, now in the occupation of Thomas Blowfild or his assigns or undertennants wth(i) three last Mentioned Cottages or Tennements wth(i) the appurtences now devised to me by the last will and Testament of Elizabeth Ansill my Grandmother upon Condition and with this Provisor that there be no Issue of my Body upon the Body of the said Elizabeth my wife But in case of Issue of my Body upon the Body of the sd(ai) Elizabeth my wife then my will and true meaning is and I do hereby give and devise all and every my freehold Cottages or tenements with their and every of their appurtences before mentioned unto to same issue whether male or female and to the heirs and assignes of either for ever as soon as he or she shall attaine to the age of one and twenty years.
