Pirton Parish Register - Baptisms 1854-64, father a labourer. 1871 aged 6, living at Great Green with her parents, Thomas and Jane Catteral, and siblings Emma, Sarah, Susan, Mary, Alice and Joseph. Elizabeth and her family lived in one of three thatched cottages once known as the Old Royal Oak, originally owned by the Lake family in 1800. In 1875, according to the book "A Foot on Three Daisies" there was a fire here, ostensibly caused by Lizzie herself whilst chasing a moth with a candle whereby she accidentally set fire to the thatch, to escape she climbed out of the bedroom window and rolled down the thatch to the ground, and was afterwards known by the nickname of 'Lizzie-roll-down-the-thatch'. 1881 not with family in census. 1891 aged 23, living at Little Green with her widowed mother, Jane Catteral, and sister Alice. Entered on census as Lizzie.
