Evelyn Rose MBE FIHEc is a consultant home economist, food and wine writer and broadcaster. She is a former National Chairman of the Institute of Home Economics, and has been cookery columnist of the
Jewish Chronicle for over thirty years, as well as contributer to other national magazines and newspapers. She has been a member of the Consumers' Committee of Great Britain and also Commissioner on the Meat and Livestock Commission. She was, until recently, Joint Chairman of the Guild of Food Writers. Evelyn has written numerous books on cookery, including joint authorships with her daughter, Judi, and fellow cookery expert, Sula Leon. She was awarded the MBE in 1989 for services to the consumer.
