Mr. John W. Bouma 6809 Keystone St., Portage Passed away Saturday, March 25, 1972. Mr. Bouma was born June 15, 1887 in the Netherlands, son of Wibbe and Helen Bouma and had been a resident of Portage for about 65 years. Before his retirement he had been engaged in farming. Mr. Bouma was a member of the First Reformed Church of Portage and had served in the Consistory and had been a member of the Celery Growers Association. He is survived by: two sons and two daughters, William of Portage, Miss Tena Bouma home address, Peter of Kalamazoo and Mrs. Helen VandeStreek of Portage; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Peter of Portage; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Jacob in 1952 and by his wife, Oktje in 1965. Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 2 o’clock at the Langeland Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave., Rev. Richard VanFarowe officiating. Interment in Central Portage Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Reformed Church of Portage Building Fund.
