Born in The Netherlands, the ninth of nine children, Hans had her adolescence and young
adulthood taken away from her by World War Two and the Occupation. Following the war
she worked in costume and set design in the Rotterdam theatre scene before meeting the true love of her life, her dashing husband, Frans Sengers. After the birth of their only child, the family emigrated to begin a new life in Oakville, Canada, where Hans became a professional potter, teaching at the Oakville Arts Society and Sheridan College. Following her retirement she flourished in her role of mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. Predeceased by Frans, she is survived and deeply missedby daughter, Johanna/'Joleen', son-in-law, Rex and granddaughters, Tatjana and Zahavah. Her kindness, grace and laughter charmed everyone she met.
She died peacefully, surrounded by love, after a brief illness.
Many thanks for the excellent care at The Briton House
Donations may be made in her name to the Dr. Bernie Zinman Diabetes Research Fund at the Mount Sinai Hospital (416.586.8203). Private funeral.
Welterusten, Moma.
