Note: Lawson: Red Lick Cemetary is abut 10 miles northwest of Texarkana on the north side of Inter state 30 and about 6 miles from the town of Nash, Texas. When they first moved to Texas, th e Freeman home in North Carolina was sold to A. R. Huggins, brother-in-law of Susanna Carpent er Freeman. The home burned about 1915, and a new Huggins home was constructed on the founda tion (Historic Architecture of Rutherford County, by Kimberly I. Merkel, 1983, photo 167). Ge orge's daughter Cora Ross dictated extensive "Memories" prior to her death, primarily about t heir life in Rutherford County, North Carolina and in Texarkana, Texas. The Freemans left No rth Carolina first after the 1880 census of Rutherford County, North Carolina for Denton Coun ty, Texas, returning to North Carolina after about two years. They then moved to Texarkana i n 1898. George died of malaria, and his widow and the younger children returned to North Caro lina, most of the family finally settling at Fort Worth, Texas a few years later. No death c ertificate or probate record was found in Bowie County, Texas, and attempts to locate the 190 0 census record have failed. Married by Reverend G. W. Rollins.

Son of Wilkerson Bell FREEMAN and Lucilla Margaret WALLACE . Red Lick Cemetery is about 10 miles northwest of Texarkana, on the north side of Interstate 30 and about 6 miles from the town of Nash, TX.
