Ms. Kittrell was born November 10, 1905 in Winterville, NC to the late George A. Kittrell and Nora Stocks Kittrell. Prior to moving to Charlotte, Ruth lived in New York City for sixty five years and was a member of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church. She graduated from Flora McDonald College in Red Springs, NC and attended Columbia University in New York City.
Ms. Kittrell was predeceased by her parents, her sister, two brothers and a great niece. She is survived by her nieces, Susan Sprock Walker of Charlotte, Nora Kittrell Hargrove and her husband, James of Powhaton, and Mary Kittrell Perkinson and her husband, Douglas of Alachua, FL, and her nephew, Fred Evans Sprock of Charlotte; seven great nieces and nephews, sixteen great-great nieces and nephews, and three great-great-great nieces and nephews.
The family is especially grateful to Linda Pegues and Rhonda Parvin of Camellia Court and the staff of Ivy Lane for their loving care and support.
