Occupation: Farmer.
Listed in 1850 Brunswick co, NC census, age 47 and as Artha Benton.
Per Betty Parrish:
There are no unknown male children of Arthur Benton, Jr. He first appears in the 1830 Brunswick Co, NC census with one male in the 0-4 age range. This child is Arthur Benton and his birth date and parentage have been validated through the LDS church records of South Carolina. All subsequent males have been accounted for in the census records. For example: in 1840 there were 5 males listed in his household, all of wich appear and are named in the 1850 census. The 1830 census also lists three female children, one in the 5-9 age range and two in the 0-4 age bracket. All three of his girls are still living with him in the 1840 census where they have moved up in age to the 10-14 and 15-19 age bracket. I believe that the youngest child of the two listed in the younger bracket is Martha who is living with her husband in Arthur's household in the 1850 census. The identity of the other two daughters are unknown at this time.
