John Franklin Harmon was grandfather of James Harmon. He and his wife resided at 424 South Chapman Street in Shawnee. James was born in this residence. John Franklin was a good carpenter and he built his own home in McCloud Oklahoma when he and his family move here from Arkansas. He also was a good businessman. He had a Hominy and horseradish business at his home in Shawnee and marketed his products under his own Label. During the depression years (1930's) he and grandson James hired out as day laborers in the local cotton and potato fields.
