James de la Montanye, well known here, died Friday in New York City of a fractured skull and other injuries received when he was hit by an automobile. He was struck as he stepped from between two parked automobiles as he endeavered to cross the street after leaving his apartment. ; Mr. de la Montanye's funeral was held from the home of his sister, Mary S., wife of L.B. Basten of 63 Main Street, this city, today at 3:30 p.m. Interment was in Marbletown Cemetery./ Obituaries on Monday evening, December 19, 1949.
