Louisa Harding, age 5, appeared in the household of Mary Carver Lewis for the census of 1860. She remained a part of the Lewis household for the census of 1870, by then called Louisa Lewis. It seems likely that she was the daughter of Ann Carver Harding, who died in December 1855, probably in childbirth. It would make sense that her closest sister, Mary, took the baby Louisa to raise.
