Note:there is no gravestone for Rufus Benson in lot 58. The Orangeville Township has in their cemetery record book the name of Rufus Benson and the dates b. 1788 d. 1868.
Duty Benson and David Benson, twins buried in lot 53, had a younger brother named Rufus Benson. However the dates for their brother do not match the dates for the Rufus Benson buried in lot 58. In addition, Rufus Benson, the brother, is recorded (see www.findagrave.com) as being buried in Tiffin Road Cemetery, Bucryus, Crawford, Ohio.
The Tiffin Road Cemetery gravestone has a death date of 29 Mar 1842 [should read 1843], but no birth date. However, the grave records on file with the City of Bucyrus record that this Rufus Benson died 29 March 1842 aged 49 years, 9 months and 17 days. The grave is marked with a War of 1812 medallion ( all three brothers, Duty, David and Rufus served in the War of 1812).
There is a problem here of identification of the two Rufus Bensons that needs to be sorted out. It is possible that Rufus Benson was moved from the Ohio site and reburied in the Brown Cemetery with his brothers. Or, these two burials may be for two completely different individuals who just happen to have the same name and who were roughly contemporary.
