Jimmy Allen Pressly, 77, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, in Fort Worth. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday at Biggers Funeral Home. Visitation: Friends are invited to the family home 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to First Baptist Church of Lakeside, 8801 Jacksboro Highway, Lakeside, Texas 76135. Mr. Pressly, a lifelong area resident, was born to Josh and Lillian Pressly in Fort Worth on May 3, 1934. He graduated from North Side High School in 1952. Jimmy started delivering the Star-Telegram in the Circle Park area of Fort Worth at the age of 12. He continued with Star-Telegram and retired 46 years later as a district manager. After retiring, he worked as a marshal at Ridglea Country Club where he was employed until his passing. He was also an avid sports fan and hunter. He refereed basketball at TCU in the late 1960s, and he played fast-pitch softball for Meadowbrook United Methodist. Jimmy's favorite pastime was his annual hunting trips to Colorado, which is where his ashes will be placed. Survivors: Wife of 45 years, Chris; sons, Jimmy Glen, Tony and Terry Pressly; daughters, Patsy Payne and Teena Miller; sister, Martha Wilson; brothers, Snooky Coach Pressly and Donald Pressly; five beloved grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and numerous friends who will all miss him.
