Services for Camilla H. Pahl (nee Dubuar), 84, of Hoffman Estates, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road (three blocks south of Biesterfield Road), Elk Grove Village, with Pastor Matt Armstrong officiating. Private interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home. Born Sept. 19, 1924, in Detroit, Mich., she passed away peacefully into the loving arms of the Lord Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at St. Alexius Medical Center, after a short battle with lung cancer. Camilla grew up in the Adirondack Mountains, where she attended a one-room schoolhouse. She went to high school in Albion, Mich. and there she met her future husband, Jack Pahl. Camilla and Jack were married Sept. 19, 1947, at her home in Wanakena, N.Y. She graduated from Syracuse University. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack, who passed away in 1991; loving mother of Marcia (Richard) Redlinger, Barbara, Carol (Gregg) Cummings, Mary (Peter) Janico, Larry (Lynn), John, Tom (Patty) and Dave (Karen); grandmother of John Lindsay Jr., Jessica (James) Leonard, Nicholas (Cathy) Harland, Caleb, Orion and Jack Pahl, Jordan Janico, Taylor Pahl, Kayley Janico and Justin Pahl; great-grandmother of Jayden and Sofie Leonard; daughter of the late James and the late Marguerite (nee Pettibone) Dubuar; and sister of Marcia Ruetershan.
