Sir John Barry, 2nd Lord Barry was the son of David de Barry, 1st Lord Barry and Joan fitz Maurice.1,2 He married Beatrice (?).2 He died, without male issue.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Barry [I., c. 1261] in 1278.1 On 1 July 1283 a distaint was served on him by the Lord Justiciar [Ireland] to compel him to receive a khighthood.1 In 1284 he surrendered Olethan to his brother David.1 In 1285 he surrendered Muscry-Donnegan to his brother David.1
