A John Canady received a Land Grant of 100 A. on 15 Oct 1783 and also granted land (per #81) on 16 Feb 1778, both parcels in Bug Hill. The first parcel is adjacent to Ramsey Ford. This John we suspect is the father of our John.

A John Cannidy is in the 1790 Brunswick Co., census 1 male over 16, 7 females. Living next to Jonathan Gore, on now Rt 905 up from Swamphouse Plantation. Maybe a father. John was b. 1802. This could be the father.
A Joseph Canniday is in the 1790 Bladen Co., NC census with 2 M and 4 F.
Per Susan Formyduval Thomas, this Joseph could be the father.
A John Canaday is found in the 1830 Bladen County census as follows:
1 m under 5; 1 m 30-40 ; 1 f under 5; 1 f 20-30
John Canady and Priscilla were living down the road close to her family. After the death of John Canady, Priscilla moved to the Jones section of Bug Hill on the Jones curve - per Susan F. Thomas.
