Surnames: Watts, Soles
Phillip Watts (b. ca. 1795) was the son of Berryman Watts and his wife
Mary who settled in Columbus County (then Bladen) before 1763. Phillip
married Dicey. I am seeking her maiden name. I would also like to see any
deeds or documents that offer proof of the children of Phillip Watts.
Currently I have listed Goldeberry and Anna Eliza, but I don't have proof
for either. My ancestor, Anna Eliza Watts (b. ca. 1823), married Jordan
"Jird" Soles (b. May 1816), supposedly a son of Joshua Soles.
Phillip Watts is recorded as deeding land to Jordan Soles and his brother Benjamin Soles and family tradition has it that Anna Eliza's maiden name was Watts. Phillip Wats land was adjacent to Jordan Soles land.
In the 1850 Horry County, census Jerdan Souls, is listed as head of household # 79, with his wife A. E., and 4 children, he, his wife and 3 children are listed as born in North Carolina, he is living 2 doors away from Allagood Suggs, and his family. Are they related??? (WSH) No (HC)
