The Jewish Monument is an online monument for the more than 104,000 people who were persecuted as Jews in the Netherlands and did not survive the Holocaust. The initiator was emeritus professor Isaac Lipschits (1930-2008). He wanted to get the victims out of anonymity, by showing each of them, with everything that is known about them. Within the online monument, visitors, editors, family members and historians work together to bundle stories and memories. The monument sketches a versatile picture of the history of the Second World War, the Shoah and the Jewish community in the Netherlands.
