Notes about Margaretha Vrouwe van Maurik

MARGARETHA van Malderick, overleden omstreeks 1306. Voor die tijd moet zij met de burcht van Maurik zijn beleend, want in 1307 wordt haar zoon, Hubrecht van Culenborch, geboren uit haar huwelijk met Johan I van Bosinchem, heer van Culemborg, knape, met de Maurikse burcht beleend. Hij werd meerderjarig tussen 29 oktober 1311 en 23 maart 1314.
Duidelijk is dat Johan van Culenborch met het huwelijk met Margaretha een meesterzet heeft gedaan: uit het Verpondings-register van 1648 blijkt dat het landbezit van de Culenborchs in Maurik 500 hectare was. De Van Maudericks hadden hun meeste bezittingen in het Nieuwslag.
