Doublet, Mr. Philips, heer van St. Annaland (1651-1660) en Moggershil, geb. Den Haag 22 januari 1590,
ingeschreven als student te Leiden 1606, secretaris van Den Haag 1618-1642, rentmeester (ontvanger) der
Espargnes van Holland 1619, ontvanger-generaal van de Unie 1629-1653), Haags advocaat 1629-1643, liet
tussen 1615-1617 een tuin- of lusthuis op de hoek van de Paviljoensgracht bouwen; later werd deze tuin
volgebouwd met woningen en er de Doubletstraat aangelegd, bewoonde een huis aan het Lange Voorhout
te Den Haag, verkocht dit huis mede namens zijn zusters Johanna en Susanna Doublet in 1629 voor 17.000
gulden, voorts was hij eigenaar van een groot gedeelte van de gronden gelegen langs de noordzijde van het
Lange Voorhout. Buitenplaats ‘Clingendael’ familiebezit, kwam vanaf 1652 officieel op zijn naam, overl. Den
Haag 31 mei 1660, zoon van Philips Doublet, ontvanger-generaal en meester van de Rekeningen van
Holland, en Maria Pietersdr. van der Goes. In 1627 beschikte hij over een vermogen van 6.000 gulden; zijn
erfgenamen bezaten in 1674 een vermogen van 938.000 gulden, overl. Den Haag 31 mei 1660, zoon van
Philips Doublet en Maria Pieters van der Goes.
Hij staat afgebeeld op het schilderij 'De Magistraat ontvangt de officieren der schutterij op de St.
Sebastiaansdoelen' (1618) en op 'De Haagse Magistraat’ (1636) beiden van Jan. Antonisz. van Ravesteyn.
Hij huwde Den Haag (Kloosterkerk) 28 maart 1632 met Geertruyt Huygens, geb. Den Haag 10 juli 1599,
overl. buitenplaats “Clingendael” Den Haag 4 juni 1680, dochter van Christiaen Huygens, secrtaris van de
Raad van State, en Susanna Hoefnagel.
