Rina trouwde op 06-10-1953 in Oisterwijk met de" handschoen" om makkelijk naar
Kenya (Afrika) te kunnen emigreren.Als ongetrouwde was het destijds bijna onmogelijk om naar Kenya te emigreren Als "Handschoen"fungeerde Theo van Eupen die daarvoor door Theo van Gorkum was gevraagd. Theo van Eupen was destijds Directeur van de Bata opleidingsschool in Best,waar Theo van Gorkum zijn opleiding had genoten.Hij was daarnaast nog wethouder van de gemeente Eindhoven. Theo van Eupen is later bij een auto-ongeluk om het leven gekomen. .Op 24-11-1953 trouwde Rina met Theo van Gorkum voor de kerk in een kapel in Tanga (Tanzania).Getuige hierbij was haar neef Herman van der Aa die door de de Fa. Heybroek (Huidenhandelaar in Amsterdam) was uitgezonden naar Mombassa
in Kenya en de Hr. Du Berry.
Rina overleed plotseling aan een aneurysma in de nek. Zij viel met de boodschappen in haar hand in de hal van haar huis in
Moergestel.
