Nicolaus (Claes) Teuwen (overleden in 1739)

Het lijkt er op dat Claes Teuwen drie maal getrouwd is geweest. Zijn eerste echtgenote was Matthia Hudders, overleden in 1698 in Horn. In 1700 trouwde hij in Horn met de uit Haelen afkomstige Joanna Keucken. Het gezin verhuisde naar Haelen, waar Joanna in 1702 overleed. Nicolaus hertrouwde met Catharina (Trincken) Quicken, die hem tenslotte overleefde (ze overleed in 1743 in Haelen). Uit deze drie huwelijken werden dertien kinderen geboren, maar slechts één, Joannes, zette de familielijn voort. Deze Joannes werd in 1716 geboren in Haelen. Op de Franse bevolkingslijst van Haelen uit 1796 komt hij voor als Jean Teewen, 80 jaar oud, marchal (smid). Hij overleed in Haelen op 30 floréal van het jaar XI (20 mei 1803). De nazaten van Jan Teeuwen zijn onder de familienamen Teven, Teeuwen en enkele andere varianten nog te vinden in Horn en Haelen.

Ik denk dat dat niet helemaal waar is. Nikolaus had ook een zoon Reijnerus met zijn tweede vrouw Johanna Keucken, die de Teuwenlijn voortzette. Reijnerus (~09.11.1700 in Haelen / +29.11.1744 Meerlo) is een van mijn voorouders.
