Grietje is bijna 20 jaar na het overlijden van haar echtgenoot uitgeschreven op 8 april 1924, naar de plaats Schoten, Bankastraat (tegenwoordig hartje Haarlem). Waarom is zij vertrokken? Kennelijk is zij vertrokken nadat haar opvoedkundige taak is volbracht en de dochters ieder hun eigen weg gingen. En ook de dochters zijn uit de buurt vertrokken waar zij zijn groot gebracht. Is dat omdat zij afstand wilden nemen van het criminele verleden van vader Seegert? Het is wel opvallend dat alle drie de dochters zijn vertrokken uit de Zaanstreek.
