Mijn onderzoek naar deze tak van mijn familie gaat terug tot Henricus Zomers, geboren in Westfalen in Duitsland.  Henricus is getrouwd met Debora Janssen en overlijdt in 1695. Door de eeuwen heen is de naam Somers afwisselend veranderd in Zomers, Soomers, Sommers en zelfs Seumers. De Somersen is een geslacht van boeren, handelaren, caféhouders, bakkers of een mengeling van een en ander.
