Net als zijn vader was Harm timmerman, maar zag het in Holland niet zo zitten.
Emigreerde in 1882 naar Amerika en bouwde daar een imperium op.
Zoals een krant "The Oak Parker" van 26 april 1919 beschreef waren veel markerende gebouwen van zijn hand.
In 1911 bezocht hij nog een keer Nederland omdat zijn vader waarschijnlijk ziek was. Overleed op 24-08-1911
Kwam op 19-06-1911 weer aan in Ellis Island met het ss"Rotterdam"
