    Charles Louwerens, 97, of Thousand Oaks, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2015.

    Charles is preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Marianne. He is survived by his daughter, Marianne Dodson (Richard), son, Charles H. Louwerens (Marti), daughter Ellen Ferguson, six loving grandchildren, David Dodson (Dawn), Tom Dodson (Shilo), Jan Louwerens (Bonnie), Jason Louwerens (Jamie), Jennifer Dirks (Mike), Tracy Aschenbrenner (Gary), and seven great grandchildren, Desirae Dodson, Dylan Dodson, Hailey Dodson, Elise Louwerens, Julia Louwerens, Jackson Louwerens, Gage Aschenbrenner, and many more loving relatives.

    Charles was born in Holland on December 2, 1917. He had a hard upbringing living through WWII in war torn Holland and supported himself by decorating cakes. He married the love of his life Marianne in 1942. They had 3 beautiful children before deciding to immigrate to America in 1956. They settled in the Los Angeles area where Charles continued his cake decorating until he deservingly retired. He recently moved to Thousand Oaks where he could be closer to his family. Charles will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
