    De betekenis moet iets als volgt zijn:
    Op 20 mei is Jacobus Franssen door een Franse soldaat op het kerkhof vermoord en op 21 mei van hetzelfde jaar in de kerk begraven.
    Nabij het geschonden kerkhof dat hersteld werd op 12 juni 1746 met toelating verkregen van de doorluchtige heer bischop van Antwerpen.
    Op 2 aug zijn de begrafenisplechtheden gevierd van Jacobus Franssen, man van Barbara Van Den Eijnde.

    Wel vreemd. Zou hij voorlopig in de kerk begraven zijn en daarna, toen het kerkhof hersteld was, terug opgegraven zijn en op 2 aug officieel begraven zijn?
    Het geheel zou wel eens kunnen kaderen in de Oostenrijkse Successieoorlog.
