In de famillie gaat het verhaal dat Karel Wilhelm Doelitzsch niet zijn echte naam was. Ze gebruikte de naam Doelitzsch (de eerste grensplaats in veilig gebied) om de voorkomen dat de nieuwe machtshebber in het het gebied dat ze ontvlucht waren hun alsnog zou vinden.

Carl Wilhelm zou een rijke Poolse Graaf zijn die Polen was ontvlucht tijdens onlusten. Hij bezat 7 kastelen in Polen. Hij (0f zijn vader?) die zich ook Carl Wilhelm Doelitzsch noemde was Luthers dominee.

Carl was Luters Dominee. Volgens een schets van Schilder Vincent van Gogh, heeft Carl Wilhelm Doelitzsch met zijn gezin in huize DÖRITZ gewoond op een kruising van Zundert naar Rijsbergen.

Er zou een koffer zijn met een dubbele bodem, waarin papieren zaten waaruit zou blijken dat inderdaad een Poolse graaf was. Hij zou ook zeer vermogend geweest zijn. De bewuste papieren en het kapitaal zijn terrecht gekomen bij zijn dochter Charlotte Catharina. Die trouwde (na het overlijiden van haar eerste man Klaas Both) met de 17 jaar jongere Jan Berger, een aan lager wal geraakte koopman. Na het overlijiden van charlotte (1939) zou deze Jan Berger met het geld een wereldreis maklen. Van Jan Berger en de bewuste koffer met de papieren is sindsdien niets meer vernomen.
