Marie Etta Kaschmitter, 94, died Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, Monday, March 2 at First Reformed Church. A family present visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 1 at George Boom Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Marie Etta Jellema was born on December 15, 1920 to John and Agnes (DeJong) Jellema in Orange City, IA. She grew up in Orange City where she received her education and then moved to Chicago for 7 years before returning to Orange City then moved to Sioux Falls. She married Odilo Kaschmitter on June 20, 1942 in Chicago.

Marie worked for 13 years as a sales clerk at Sears. She was also a member of the Minnekato Travel Club. She enjoyed playing cards, camping and doing all types of crafts. She loved spending time with her family and was very proud of her grandchildren.

Marie is survived by her husband, Odilo Kaschmitter, Sioux Falls; two sons: Larry (Nancy) Kaschmitter and Greg (Jennifer) Kaschmitter, all of Sioux Falls; three brothers: Tom (Joan) Jellema, Phoenix, AZ, Orion (Tek) Jellema, Jackson, MS and Donald (Louella) Jellema, Brandon, SD; sister, Agnes Becker, Sioux Falls; 5 grandchildren: Eric Kaschmitter, Matthew (Abby) Kaschmitter, Darcy Schmidt, Katie (Randy) Lathen and Amy (Aaron) Knight; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers.
