Opa en Oma hadden een Café naast het woonhuis in de Mgr.v.d. Weteringstraat (tot 1929 was dit de Weistraat). Hier is Albert geboren. Ik heb hier voor het eerst als klein kind TV gezien Dorus en kwartje per seconde. Ik heb jaren gedacht dat ik bij mijn Oma voor het eerst kleuren tv gezien had, maar die is pas 20 jaar later uitgevonden. Later heeft Oom Albert het Café overgenomen en is er een slijterij naast gekomen i.p.v. de woonkamer.
Later heeft zijn zoon (Al)Bert het weer overgenomen en nu is het een proeflokaal / wijnproeverij geworden. Met de naam de Zes Vaatjes.
Het in Utrecht bekende kruidendrankje de Baliekluiver is een recept van mijn Oma.
