De vader van de bruidegom is tapper en slijter en de vader van de bruid is boekhandelaar (academische boekhandel te Nijmegen).
Na het overlijden van Petronella in 1941 hertrouwt Willem Schreuder op 24 maart 1942 met zijn huishoudster Catharina Johanna Verloove, wonende te Rijsoord. Zij is de dochter van Frederik Verloove en Jannetje Catharina Degenhardt. Zij is ook het nichtje van haar naamgenoot Catharina Johanna Verloove, die de tweede vrouw was van Abraham van Duijnen de vader van Petronella Maria van Duijnen, zijnde de moeder van Willem Schreuder. De huwelijksgetuigen zijn Jan Uko Reinders, schoonzoon van de bruidegom, en Catharina Cornelia Helena Verloove de zuster van de bruid. Zij gaan wonen aan de J.A. Feithstraat 8b in Groningen in het huis van de bruidegom.
Uit het tweede huwelijk van Willem Schreuder wordt op 23 januari 1943 nog een zoon Willem Schreuder geboren in Groningen.
