Notes about Ludmilla "Ludmilla" van Psov

De heilige Ludmilla (Bohemen, rond 860 - Tetin, bij Beroun, 15 september 921) was de echtgenote van Borivoj I van Bohemen, de eerste christelijke vorst van Bohemen. Zij werden door de H. Methodius gedoopt in 871. Pogingen om de bevolking verplicht te bekeren tot het christendom, mislukten evenwel. Zij werd de grootmoeder en de opvoedster van Wenceslaus de Heilige, de latere koning van Bohemen, na de dood van zijn vader. Op aanstichten van haar schoondochter Drahomira, die vond dat Ludmilla Wenceslaus te veel beïnvloedde, werd Ludmilla omgebracht.

Ludmilla is de patroon van Bohemen, van de bekeerlingen, van Tsjechoslowakije, van de hertogen, de weduwen en wordt aangeroepen bij problemen met de schoonfamilie. Haar feestdag is op 15 september.
