Gaylen Duane Kuperus, 77, of Clarion passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion. He was born in Parkersburg, Iowa May 14, 1937, the son of Sam and Marie Kuperus.
A Celebration of Life for Gaylen Kuperus will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the United Church of Christ Congregational, 115 3rd Avenue North West in Clarion with Pastor Bill Kem officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
Visitation for Gaylen Kuperus will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Gaylen married Janice Jansen on July 23, 1957. He worked for Amoco for 13 years. He then went to work as a Sales Manager for Hagie Manufacturing. He retired in 2002.
Gaylen was a member of the UCC Congregational Church, where he served on many boards. His hobbies were golfing, woodworking, hunting and fishing.
Gaylen spent a lot of time on Leech and Cass Lakes. He enjoyed their summer home on Cass Lake very much.
Gaylen leaves his wife Janice, they were married 57 years; his children Jamie (Peggy) Kuperus of Oregon, Illinois, Jon (Amy) Kuperus of Polk City, Iowa, and Robyn (Jim) Drew of Dixon, Illinois; grandchildren Katie (Dustin) Leo and their daughter Brooklyn, Matthew (Donette) Kuperus and their son Caleb, Lee (Sarah) Kuperus, and Megan Kuperus.
Gaylen was preceded in death by his daughter Gale and parents Sam and Marie Kuperus.
