In 1943 wilden ze hun 30 jarig huwelijksfeest vieren. Dochter Jentje wou daar niet bij zijn omdat het dan op zou vallen dat ze een voorechtelijk kind was. Evert en Riek zijn toen op die zelfde dag getrouwd zodat het allemaal niet zo op viel.

Notes about Hermpje Schepers

Hermpje had rond 1907/1908 een korte relatie met Gerrit Luisman * 1889 Ambt Hardenberg. Hermpje was een kordate vrouw. Ze is voorzitster geweest van de vrouwenvereniging in Dophia. In de tweede wereldoorlog fietste ze naar de Kloosterhaar om bij haar familie wat eten op te scharrelen.
