Bij het huwelijk van zijn ouders in 1907 worden zusje Johanna Margaretha, geboren 12-11-1905 en zijn broertje Gerardus Jacobus, geboren 03-01-1907, door Aaldert Bosch erkend en gewettigd. Het is aannemelijk, dat Gebrand ook een zoon was van Aaldert Bosch. Hij was bij het huwelijk van zijn ouders al overleden en is daarom niet door Aaldert Bosch erkend en gewettigd. Gerbrand behoudt de achternaam "Dijst".
