Het gezin woonde in Groede in het huis wijk O 13. Gezin is op 25 novenber 1895 vertrokken wegens grote moeilijkheden.
Oudste dochter Leonie was betrokken bij een driedubbele moord te Oostburg.
In 1861 woonde het gezin nog in Koewacht in het huis C 85 te St. Andries en Ignatius was schoolmeester aldaar.
Leonie en Caroline waren de eerste van de familie die moesten vluchten. Ze zijn naar Brugge gegaan en stonden daar binnen enkele
jaren aan de top van de Stad Brugge en allen heel welvarend geworden.
