Grutte Pier Grote Pier (Fries: Grutte Pier, ook wel Lange Pier) (1480? 28 oktober 1520) is de naam waaronder Pier Gerlofs Donia als Fries krijgsheer en vrijheidsstrijder bekendheid heeft gekregen. Rond zijn figuur heeft zich een uitgebreide legendevorming voorgedaan en het is moeilijk te zeggen wat er van de verhalen over Grote Pier op waarheid berust en wat niet.
