I'm British, tracing my paternal Dutch ancestors. My Great Grandfather was born in Holland and came to Liverpool with his parents as a child. There are a number of Stam family members still living in the Liverpool area, with more of my great grandfather's descendents now living elsewhere in England, with some in France, some in USA, some in the Far East, and some in Australia. 

It's been quite easy to trace my paternal ancestors in UK as my Dutch surname is very unusual over here, and until my generation, many of them remained in Liverpool.
