Rotterdam is a town in Schenectady County, New York, United States. The population was 29,094 at the 2010 census. The town of Rotterdam is in the south-central part of the county. It was founded by Dutch settlers, who named it after the port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands, where many immagrants last touched European grounds. The town borders the city of Schenectady.
