Records from Stiphout

Stiphout is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Helmond, about 2km west of the centre of that city. The town is mentioned for the first time in 1155 as 'Villa Stilpot' and in 2005 the village celebrated their 850th anniversary. It is famous for its "Bavaria Profronde" which occurs every year and attracts around 50.000 visitors. Stiphout was a separate municipality until 1968, when it became part of Helmond. Before that, Stiphout was a poor village, but nowadays it is due its position (between Helmond and Eindhoven) a village which attracts a lot of rich people who want to live outside the city.
