Notes about Thomas Catherton

He was William 4th Lord Latimer’s esquire and as such was placed in command of Saint-Sauveur-Le-Vicomte in Normandy for 5 years 1370-75. He capitulated after SSlV was under close siege for several months – the first great cannon siege. This led to his being accused of treason during the Good Parliament of 1376 by Sir John Annesley. Annesley’s accusations led to a trial by duel which resulted in Catherton’s death in July 1380. Robert Bank.
