Jacob left a will naming his son Abraham.

Mrs. Stahl translates "1786 Sept. den 2 tenist der alte Johannes Stahl in Upper Milford gestorben den 4 ten begraben in Springfield."

Her translation, "Old Johannes Stahl of Upper Milford died in Springfield on the 2nd of Sept. 1786 and was buried on the 4th."

I am a poor German student, but might another translation be, '1786 Sept. the 2nd, the elderly Johannes Stahl in Upper Milford died; the 4th buried in Springfield.'

Another possibility, "1786 Sept. the 2nd, the elderly Johannes Stahl of Upper Milford died; the 4th buried in Springfield."

Of course, we must ask why Jacob Stahl would be buried in Springfield Twp., Bucks Co., PA instead in his home township of Upper Milford.

Johann Jakob Stahl is a Revolutionary War patriot because he signed an oath of alligence to Pennsylvania. I have claimed him as a supplimentary ancestor for my Sons of the American Revolution membership. His son, Abraham Stahl is my primary Revolutionary War patriot ancestor.-D.A.
