      Irena Angela, ook Eirene, Irene Angelina en Irene Maria genoemd (Byzantium, 1177 of 1180/81 - burcht Hohenstaufen, 27 augustus 1208) was koningin van Duitsland van 1198 tot 1208 als vrouw van Duits koning Filips van Zwaben.

      Irena Angela was een dochter van keizer Isaäk II van Byzantium en diens eerste echtgenote Herina. Zij trouwde in 1193 met Rogier III van Sicilië, die al hetzelfde jaar overleed. Irena werd in 1194 gevangengenomen bij de Duitse invasie van Sicilië en trouwde in 1197 met Filips van Zwaben. Irena werd in Duitsland Maria genoemd.

      Na de moord op haar echtgenoot in 1208, trok zij zich terug in de burcht Hohenstaufen en gaf drie maanden nadien het leven aan een dochter, maar moeder en dochter overleden in het kraambed.

      Irena en Filips waren de ouders van:
      - Beatrix van Zwaben (1198-1212), in 1212 gehuwd met keizer Otto IV van het Heilige Roomse Rijk
      - Cunigonde (1200-1248), in 1224 gehuwd met Wenceslaus I van Bohemen (1205-1253)
      - Maria van Zwaben (1201-1235), gehuwd met hertog Hendrik II van Brabant (1207-1248)
      - Elisabeth (1202-1235), in 1219 gehuwd met Ferdinand III van Castilië (1199-1252).
