Notes about Reijer de Jager

Reijer de Jager koopt op 12 februari 1862 de korenmolen in Herwijnen (Ten Bruggencatenummer 03507 n). Hij betaalt daarvoor ƒ 6.200. Reijer de Jager was gehuwd met Cornelia van Kranenburg, die door de notaris, die ook afkomstig was uit Deil, het mooie Keetje werd genoemd. Reijer de Jager scheen volgens zijn familie beneden zijn stand getrouwd te zijn, iets wat erg was in die tijd. Hierdoor lag hij met zijn familie overhoop. Hij kwam in 1861 met twee kleine kinderen naar Herwijnen, een jongetje van drie jaar en een dochtertje dat in september twee jaar werd. Later werden nog drie kinderen geboren. In 1877 overleed Cornelia (Keetje) aan hersenvliesontsteking. Toen Reijer de Jager in 1901 overleed ging de molen over naar zijn zonen Willem Gijsbert en Toon.
