  • Fact: in the year 1617 diversen.
    Voor het eerst genoemd in 1617. Hij is de eerste die zich Speksgoor noemt. hij moet dus eerst anders hebben geheten. Hij was de zoon van Hendrick te Woepenreijse en Griete Rijtbergen. Tonnis ging begin 1600 naar het lage vruchtbare stukgrond ´specks-goor´ en bouwde daar een huis. Hij noemde zich daarna Tonnis Specksgoor. Zijn oudste zoon werd Hendrick genoemd naar zijn grootvader. De tweede zoon Geert ging zich later weer Wopereis noemen.
    Jongste dochter Geertien noemde zich later ook weer Wopereis toen ze met Berent Ruhorst trouwde.
    Een verder bewijs van afstamming is het feit dat alle namen van kinderen en kleinkinderen dezelfde zijn als die van de grootouders en ooms en tantes. Bovendien spreekt de 2e vrouw van Tonnis Specksgoor, Lumme te Moller in een brief van haar ´aldoeme(oudoom) Hendrick te Woepenreijse die bij haar in de kost is.
